Understanding the user who isn't you

How I do it

I help you put users at the centre of your thinking, whether you are developing products, services or policy. I use research to focus development on what people want and need, and I work with you to build and prototype ideas for testing and further iteration.

I favour observational research (because there is often a discrepancy between what interviewees say they do and what they actually do in everyday life). But I select research methods according to the project: interviews, observation (sometimes called ethnographic or empathic research), focus groups, brainstorms, diary studies, concept testing, usability testing.

I work independently but have a wide network of talented and creative colleagues, drawn together over 20 years experience, who I bring together to meet specific project needs.

My network is international so, where appropriate, I can bring a global perspective to projects.
