Canoelife trips Our Explore Allgau trips are a guided introduction to the area of the Allgau. Accommodating wishes and skills we advise and tailor the content of the course to suit. We will experience the peaceful calm of one of the many lakes of the area such as the Rotachsee, or the great expanses of Lake Constance on an 8 day Canoe Camping trip. The River Iller on our doorstep, at grade 2 with the backdrop of the Bavarian Alps is a good introduction to the rivers in the area. The beautiful River Argon, another interesting grade two river nearby, is a must if water levels allow or the Donau which gently flows north of the Alps, but makes for a relaxing trip.For the more adventurous the spectacular scenery of the Lecht valley with its’ fast flowing glacial melt is  an exhilarating run in canoe. A little further a-field but well worth the visit, the River Isar begins in the Alps and runs north directly through Munich. Like the other rivers beginning in the Alps it then joins the vast waters of the Danube. There is the option to paddle two or more days in succession on the Donau, Lecht or Isar, overnighting at campsites (recommended) or accommodation along the way. To include the Lecht and Isar as a guided trip you should be competent on grade two water. Discover Allgau trips come highly recommended as guided trips to include the mountains and waters of the area, getting immersed fully in nature at its’ best. We will divide our time to explore the local waters, lakes or/and rivers and the mountains of the area. The spectacular scenery really can be appreciated from up on high, looking down on rivers paddled and the region below is an experience not to be missed. You will have the experience of an International Mountain Leader as a guide, with a possible stay in a mountain hut allowing a full mountain experience, including alpine nature and Bavarian cultures. From Alpine flora to marmots, waterfalls to rock formations the surroundings will never cease to amaze. We recommend this trip to anyone torn between what the region has to offer, and suggest this maybe the best way to get the most out of your time with adventurelifelinks. |
What’s included We will provide you with fully outfitted royalex We-no-nah canoes, Grey Owl wooden paddles & poles, Palm BA’s and helmets. Each participant will also get the use of a True North expedition dry-sack, and Tarp. All transport during activity is included. Extra equipment for hire includes tents, sleeping bags, & stoves.
