The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Does anyone have pepakura files for the armor? If not how about 3d files of them? After seeing the Halo armor on the 405ths site I think this is a cost effective (although time consuming) method for me to build. Starting to consider using Jan Rukr's paper M41A and beefing it up for my first PR.... Any other Aliens pep files would be great too. Found a site that has a face hugger in one of the speciman holders that looked super cool. Any help would be appreciated.

Check google 3d warehouse, BUT ask the permission of the artist before you port it over to pep. I have seen a few models there that would be of interest to the group if I could ever figure out how to unfold them properly.

Great place but no luck at the warehouse on the armor, had the smartgun and sentry gun though :D . Does anyone have any 3d files from the games, maybe you did a skin mod to the armor? I have another 3d editing program that I can open those files in and "save as" option. Ive found some of the weapons in Poser file form that I can open with it, but not the armor.... Any help would be great. Thanks, Nemesis

These would be wicked. I'm in process of assembling a combat shotgun (Fallout 3) from pepakura and would be quite interested in Aliens related model files. Please keep us/me posted!

some members over on the 405th.com boards have started assembling this stuff. so far theyve gotten the chest and back plates for the armor, and the M41A. i dont think the rifle has been unfolded, but the armor segments have.

I'm working on those files to make them more SA. I have already done the helmet, it's at the bottom of the thread.

For those of you that don't know much about pepakura it is a
very solid way to make armor. Check out the 405th forums,
there are some really nice Master Chief and Ironman suits.

Just a note on Pepakura Designer, if you want to export files (change to bitmap) you have to buy the keycode. Its $38. But the Pep Viewer will print if you have a printer. I am about 1500 miles from home and no printer available were I am staying so I dished the $$ for the password so I can convert the files so I can take the files to a local print shop. As I have read on the 405ths forums if you want to build armor your going to have to spend some $$$,lol. I wouldnt have this problem if I was at home. Im also going to try to use the files as patterns on craft/hobby foam, a technique I found on armor building site for LOTR elf armor....so may not have to use the fiberglass and resin which should save me alot of cash :) They used craft foam, elmers glue and something like cheesecloth for backing/reinforcing. I did some tests with the foam and I think this will work. Also some cool aging techniques.
Here is the link if anyone is interested: http://entropyhouse.com/penwiper/costum ... sdeep.html

I printed the right leg armor out Friday just to tinker with, see how it turns out.

Its actually kinda relaxing cutting the pieces out, I just popped in a movie and went to town, though I only made it through about 5 pieces so far...

Just to let everyone know, I'm planing on adding details and reshaping all of the pieces to make them more SA. Just in case you want to wait or make these for practice.
I should have the new back ready to go tomarrow.

Maybe I missed it when reading the tutorials on the 405th, but if its a straight line with the same number on each side uh what do I do?? Slit and slide under?
