Guildford Borough Council is a hugely diverse organisation. We deliver a wide range of services and employ people with an even broader range of skills. We firmly believe this helps us to generate the ideas and ingenuity needed to address the often complex issues our communities face. The job of the council is to support the infrastructure and services provided for the local community. Guildford is a regional centre for leisure, business, education, shopping and culture.

We are currently seeking a Civil Enforcement Officer to join our team. This is a challenging and rewarding job if you enjoy working outdoors and dealing with the public. Your role is to advise and assist members of the public regarding the parking facilities and to enforce the parking regulations.

You should be able to cover significant distances on foot and be able to access confined spaces in between cars. You must also hold a current driving licence to enable you to use the Council's vans and scooters. It is essential that you have a courteous, helpful and confident manner and that you are an effective communicator.

A 37-hour week is worked including Saturdays with early and late shifts. Full training will be provided. Additional payments are made for public holiday and weekend working. A uniform is supplied and shoe allowance paid.

A Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) Disclosure will be requested for the successful applicant prior to appointment.

The Council is committed to continuing its policy of equality in all aspects of employment and service delivery.
