My Practice Today Having trained and worked with two long-established UK patent firms, I started my own practice at the start of 1999. While working for my own clients, I act as a consultant to several prominent firms of patent attorneys in the UK and in Ireland.
My aim is to offer intellectual property services of the highest quality, at highly competitive pricing made possible by my very low overheads.
My Computing Experience Before starting university, I worked in computing. I developed control software for banking machinery in Z80 assembly language, and developed database and accounting applications in Pascal.
I undertook several commercial programming contracts for the University of Bath, including Unix/C systems programming and Windows programming for computer aided engineering. I also administered a Unix network for the University.
My degree project included developing a graphical interface for an engineering simulation package in C for the X window system.
More recently, I have programmed using Borland Delphi and in C, C++ and Python/Qt5 for cross-platform development.
Other Interests and Activities I am an artistic photographer and exhibit regularly. I also take part in Spring Fling Open Studios.
I am an amateur horologist, and an associate of the British Horological Institute specialising in 18th and 19th century domestic clocks.
