WHAT IS INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE?

Indian Head Massage is probably the oldest therapy known to man, and has been practiced in the Far and Middle East for at least 5000 years.  The beneficial effects have been acknowledged for generations, and massage is a part of everyday activity in many parts of the world.

Based on an ancient Indian healing system, the Ayurveda, an Indian Head Massage (or Champissage) is subtle and deep, leaving the client feeling deeply relaxed, de-stressed and rejuvenated.

The massage can be done with our without oils depending on the client's wishes.  It is performed in my relaxing, warm room over clothes.  The recipient sits in an upright chair with both feet flat on the ground for the main parts of the massage, and then moves to the couch for the final facial massage.

Massage is given to the head, neck, upper back etc. Which is not only therapeutic and relaxing, but can also help to promote hair growth.  This relaxing massage has become more and more popular in recent years.  The massage induces a wonderful feeling of calmness and wellbeing.

BENEFITS FROM INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE

Indian Head Massage works on areas affected by mental and emotional stress.

There are many benefits that you can gain through Indian Head Massage, the main ones being that it can help to relieve muscular tension, mental tiredness, stress, anxiety and fatigue, improves posture and flexibility and circulation to the head, increases joint mobility, relieves eye strain, jaw ache, sinus congestion, tension headaches, migraines and many other symptoms.  It increases circulation to the scalp, improving the condition of the hair.  It can also improve general circulation, energy and alertness.

Many different medical practitioners and corporate companies are discovering the benefits of this ancient practice.  Businesses are offering their employees free in-house massages in the quest to increase productivity and reduce absenteeism.  Air conditioning and artificial lighting of the office environment often cause headaches, as can sitting slouched in front of the computer all day or at the steering wheel, which may result in the formation of stress nodules in the neck and shoulders.  Because Indian Head Massage can be performed anywhere and is just as effective if done dry (without oil), it is the ideal way to relieve office-related stress.
