Directions and Maps

The meeting point is Millers Dale Station Car Park for the Monsal Trail

The nearest post code is SK17 8SN but you WILL need these directions for the last bit as this postcode covers a very large rural area. In addition, you can search Google maps for Abseiling Derbyshire and the marker points to the meeting spot. Plug in your own postcode and get door to door directions!


From the A623, Baslow to Chapel en le Frith

Take the B6049 south through Tideswell Village. Follow this road down to the bottom of the valley for about 1 mile. Please take care as there are some very sharp bends. Once you go under the high bridge that crosses the road and river, look for a sign to Worm Hill. Take this road on the right, over the river, under two low bridges and the car park is 50 metres on the left shortly after the low bridges.

From the Sheffield area

From the Owler Bar roundabout take the A621 to Baslow.

At Baslow take the A619 towards Bakewell but before reaching Bakewell take the right turn onto the A6020 for Ashford in the Water.

At the T junction with the A6 turn right.

Shortly after an up hill section of dual carriageway you will pass a pub called the Waterloo on the left. Take the next RIGHT for Blackbrook, Millers Dale and Tideswell, the B6049.

Follow the road down to the valley bottom - CARE sharp bends & narrow.

At the small hamlet at the valley bottom turn LEFT, sign posted for Worm Hill. Pass over the river, round a sharp right hand bend, under 2 low bridges and turn left into the car park.

From Matlock & the Derwent Valley area

Leave Matlock heading North to Bakewell on the A6.

Continue through Bakewell on the A6 towards Buxton.

Shortly after an up hill section of dual carriage way you will pass a pub called the Waterloo on the left.

On arrival in the car park...

Please just look for the Abseiling Derbyshire banner and sign and the instructor will meet you there.

This is a Pay & Display car park run by the Peak District National Park Authority and the current charges are £4.00 for a half day. Please remember to bring some small change.
