In-Motion Vehicle Scales
for Non-Stop Weighing

Cardinal offers an in-motion vehicle scale suitable for use in a variety of applications. The Cardinal in-motion scale consists of two rugged steel platforms each supported by four compression strain gage load cells. Each platform is designed to weigh one end of each vehicle axle. The two platforms make up a weighing surface that is 12 feet (3.7 m) wide by 30 inches (0.76 m) long and can weigh vehicles traveling at speeds up to 45 mph (72 km/h).

Cardinal in-motion scales are used in highway weigh stations and ports of entry to identify heavily loaded vehicles and direct them to a static scale for enforcement weighing. Data from the in-motion scale may also be used to determine vehicle classification or to be used in traffic flow studies. Cardinal in-motion scales may be equipped with automatic vehicle identification (AVI) equipment to identify trucks passing over the scale. Static scales and facility vehicle management systems can be added to complete the package.

Cardinal in-motion scales can be custom tailored to meet your specific requirements. Performance is in compliance with applicable levels listed in ASTM 1318. Let our engineers help you with your weighing application.

AX900™
Portable Axle Scale

Intercomp's low profile, portable axle scale gives you the accuracy to weigh most any over the road vehicle. Its ultra lightweight design (only 400 lbs. per platform) makes this portable scale easy to set up. Each scale system comes complete with high strength aluminum ramps and Intercomp's PT20 Axle Weigher indicator. This digital battery operated indicator has a built-in charger, printer, jumbo sized display, memory and numerous other standard features.

This rugged cast aluminum weighing plate is light enough to accommodate portability yet large enough for any type of vehicle. The bright orange industrial paint is baked on to the aluminum alloy chassis. CAS platforms not only look tough, they're built tough! With a variety of capacities & higher resolutions (1/2000 - 1/2500) the RW can be used in almost any application. Solid rubber ramps provide maximum grip and balance in even the most severe unleveled conditions. These rubber ramps also reduce the total weight of the product. The RW can even accommodate for virtually any vehicle's axel arrangement with the simple use of "Dummy Plates." Theses are simply solid rubber spacers of different sizes that can be placed between multiple platforms.
