“If you want to free a society, just give them internet access. Because people, the young guys, you know, are all going to go out and see biased media, see the truth about other nations and their own nation and they’re going to be able to contribute and collaborate together.”

Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Plant, Detected Radiation Level Beginning to Show Serious Radiation Poisoning Risk. Prime Minister Naoto Kan Address: Residents within 20-30km radius are asked to stay indoor.

An expert at NHK’s program just said

‘This is now a major fall out even in terms of history of nuclear reactor incidents. It might not reach the level of Chernobyl, but it will rank as second beneath that.’

  • Highest level of radiation, 1000 times more than previously detected, are now being detected at multiple locations across the faciity. This poses immediate health risk/radiation poisoning. *400 milli Sv/HR (*highest figure) = 400,000 micro Sv/HR
  • After the report about the suspected damage near reactor container vessel at No.2 reactor, and another new explosion at 4th reactor building, Japan’s PM Kan Naoto just held emergency press conference/televised address to the nation.
  • PM Kan ordered immediate complete evacuation of residents within 20km radius from the plant.
  • Also he asked everyone within 30km-20km radius to go inside of the any available indoor situation immediately. Close window tight, no ventilation, etc.
  • Kan said he ordered TEPCO to do everything to prevent any explosions or high level radiation leaks.
  • He requested TEPCO to continue with water injection operation to reactors at any cost.
  • Explosion and fire at No.4 reactor building involves the spent nuclear fuel rods, and it is said that smoke and ashes from it can be highly radioactive.
  • There has been a concern about the situation of the pool in this No.4 reactor building, which stores spent nuclear fuel rods.
  • No. 4 building’s spent fuel rods are not protected like other nuclear reactors. Once the explosion happened, the possible situation is that radioactive materials are released massively from them. Edano said 'We must stop that fire.’
  • Now just reported that fire was extinguished.
  • [Seems JDP/Kan appears to be now fearing the continuous sluggish performance (enough PR disasters) by TEPCO (electricity company which manages those reactors). But doesn’t look Kan is wiling to decisively and firmly take over the leadership/control of the situation. At press conference, Kan, Edano, when it comes to the details, they say they delegate responsibility about reporting and verifying those facts and datas to TEPCO. *The report from TEPCO about No.2 reactor’s suppression pool damage was delivered to Kan 1 hour after medias have reported it and that made Kan angry - it was reported.]
  • Also now there are reports that ‘small/little air masses’ containing radioactive substances are becoming more widespread across North East part of Japan. *Poses no health risk, it is said at this point. Ibaraki Prefecture, Kanagawa  Prefecture (Yokosuka Port, might be from evacuated US navy vessel?).
