Some people get tattoos and then for their own reasons come to regret getting the adornment later in life. Sometimes, as in the case of Kimberley Vlaeminck of Belgium who had 56 stars on her face (see the video below) and then regretted them when her father saw them, it’s not that much later. Most people who get a tattoo love it at the time, and if they stop loving it then there will usually be a deeper reason. They can get the tattoo removed, but it comes at some cost – and not just a financial one.

If you have had the name of a loved one tattooed on your body and then have come to love them a little less – or a lot less, more suitably – then you may well be well advised to get the tattoo removed unless you have no plans to ever date again (or only date people of that name who are really gullible). Be advised though that as well as costing money, this is surgery that hurts, and tends to take a couple of goes to remove – and even then you are left with a patch of bare, sensitive skin.

Sure, you should not go through life with a tattoo you hate, but this is more a matter of thinking really hard before you get a tattoo. If conditions beyond your control make it no longer advisable for you to have it, then there is no-one who would damn you for getting the surgery. Just remember that it’s a long road to get one removed.
