Where do I even begin?!? This has certainly been the craziest, hardest, best 5 weeks of my life! God has shown me some strength and courage in myself that I did not know existed. We just returned to semi-civilization…where they have freezers and cold drinks for crying out loud!..after traveling along the Amazon river and visting 10 different jungles. I can say without a doubt that all the experiences I encountered while in the jungle have stirred me up for the better! There is so many things that have gone on…like getting beached in the middle of the river (a couple times), going on wild hikes, trekking through mud holes for 30 minutes, holding snakes..just to name a few! I have also met some amazing people and formed some lifelong relationships! It has been one challenging, crazy, …

We Live on An Edge…

…I am a worshiper. …I am a son of God. …I am an atmosphere shifter. … I declare that this day, my soul will give praise to the Lord. I command it, and I will beat my flesh into submission to obtain it. I will not be shut down, frustrated, distracted, discouraged, attacked, cut down, bruised, defeated. …I am victorious. The Lord is my shield, and no fiery dart of the enemy will touch me. He is my rock, He is my light and my salvation. He is light, and in Him is absolutely no darkness at all. He is light, and I am being changed, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, and being transformed into that light. …I am light, because He is light. I carry His DNA, and my words have power, because I have the Spirit of truth dwelling in me, the downpayme…

Just chillin in Peru

June 12, 2012
Hello everyone! well I havent had much time to write a blog and update everyone on my progess and my health but here it is now.  I am doing very well health wise.  The food is amazing compared to what i was expecting coming in.  The normal meal consists of chicken, rice, bread, and coffee.  We have had fish on random days, which is a nice change even though im usually not a big fan of fish.  We have been sleeping in an open aired room with just a roof over us.  I have my airpad that i sleep on with my mosquito net covering me.  It is actually pretty comfortable once you get use to it.  Even though it has all been great so far, it is all going to change as of tomorrow.  Tomorrow we are taking a boat up the river to a smaller town that i cant r…

Bless the Lord, oh my soul

Well are are about 15 hours from rolling out of Nauta, hopping on a boat and heading up the river. We will be bouncing around like a beach ball to 10 different villages and spending differnet amounts of time in each village. I am pretty sad about leaving the Complimento Renovacion (sp?) here in Nauta, but I am also excited to see what God has in store in the jungle! We will also be traveling with two cooks and two drivers who will become part of our team. One thing I became aware of last night when we were walking around was the insane amount of stars that you can see here. The sky is so Black and the stars are so bright. You can see every constellation. And I used to freak out at home when I could just see the big dipper! And from what I have heard, there are even more when you´r…

Las personas aquí son muy amables me encantan, y puedo decir que me en encariñado mucho con los niños, los amo mucho!   Pero les  quiero contar lo que eh tenido en mi mente y corazón toda esta semana y es el perdón. Hello everyone! I just want to let you all know that we made it to the jungle without any complications, and that I am enjoying it very much. It is so different from my beloved Wisconsin northwoods, but so beautiful as well. The jungle kids are so precious and so much fun. We did a three day VBS and hung out on Sunday after church, too. The people at the churchschoolcamp where we are staying are also very dear to me. We have been here five days now, and it has been such a blessing getting to know them. They have such servant hearts and so much joy. Since beeing here, God has filled me with so much joy! The hearts and attitudes of my team members fills me with joy, the jungle atmosphere and people fill me with joy, the laughter and friendliness of the church fills me with joy, and the a…

Si Christo me salvo, mi corazon limpio!

We have arrived safely in Peru and had absolutely no problems getting here! Praise the Lord! We are in a city called Nauta and have been staying at a church/school called Comlimento Renevacion (sp??). It has already been such an experience already and the Lord has been faithful to provide for our every need and to speak to us clearly. The people living at the church here have been so hospitable to us and have become part of our family! One of the most encouraging things to me is meeting fellow believers and saints in other parts of the world and joining in community and vision with them. The Christians here have such a strong passion and desire to spread Gods word to the city of Nauta as well as to the people of the Amazon jungle. It is great that the Lord has provided brothers and sist…
