Bad Planning at Buck Barn!

With the increasing rate of collisions at the Buck Barn crossroads, questions have to be asked as to the wisdom of allowing all the development that has taken place in the area.

Commenting on the situation, Peter Finch from the A24 Alliance said: "Clearly something has gone wrong here. Surely the planners must have realised that a new Supermarket and fast food joint would attract more traffic than just a Petrol station occupying the site.

Whilst I understand engineers have worked hard to find a suitable sequence of phasing for the traffic lights at the crossroads, these problems should have been spotted at the planning stage by council officers, long before recommending approval of the development.

However we have to ask the direct question. Was undue pressure put on the council by the multinational company's involved in the development, to ensure a successful planning application?"
