Below is a sample of current, completed and small works projects.

CURRENT PROJECTS:

Xeros - Value £70,000
AMS have been appointed to carry out the D&B electrical installation in connection with Xeros move to new larger premises. Xeros technology uses recyclable polymer beads within commercial laundry washing machines to significantly reduce water usage. The works include an upgrade of the supply, new LV distribution and power for the huge machines, and internal fit of the mezzanine offices. The works will be completed for August 2015.


University of Sheffield, International College - Value £650,000
AMS have been appointed to carry out the electrical installation works in association with the refurbishment of levels 4-7 of the recently aqquired Velocity 2 building. The works comprises the installation of new LV distribution, lighting, power, fire alarm, access, and data systems. The 24 week project is due for completion in August 2015.

The Square, Sheffield - Value £73,000
AMS have been awarded the electrical services to the internal refurbishment to suit client requirements on levels 2, 3, and 5. The D&B fast track project is due for completion in June 2015.

University of Sheffield, Hicks Backlog Maintenance - Value £450,000
AMS are appointed to carry out the electrical installation works in association with the refurbishment of 300 rooms and corridors within the Hicks building. The works comprises the installation of new LED lighting, power, fire alarm modifications, new door access, and additions to data systems. The project commenced in September 2014 and is due for completion in July 2015.

RECENTLY COMPLETED PROJECTS: 

University of Sheffield, St Georges Campus Ph2 Refurbishment - Value £350,000
AMS were appointed to carry out the electrical installation works in association with the refurbishment of levels K&L of the Sir Robert Hadfield building. The works comprised the installation of new LV distribution, lighting, power, fire alarm, access, and data systems. The 24 week project was completed in Decemberber 2014.

Lyceum Theatre, Sheffield - Value £310,000
AMS were awarded the electrical services to the internal refurbishment works. The project involved the removal and re-instatement of all the theatre lighting systems and dimmer units, replacement of all front of house lighting with LED luminaires, new fire alarm and CCTV systems, and also the installation of a 18Kw photovoltaic system, and was all successfully completed in just 8 weeks.

Woodstock Bower Medical Centre, Rotherham - Value £40,000
AMS were appointed to carry out the D&B electrical services to the extension of the existing medical centre. The project comprised the installation of LV distribution, general lighting and power, data, and security systems. The 20 week project completed in June 2014.

University of Sheffield, 9 Mappin Street Refurbishment - Value £650,000         
AMS secured the electrical installation works in association with the prestige refurbishment of this six storey building. The works comprised a complete strip back to the shell, followed by the installation of new LV distribution, lighting, power, fire alarm, security systems, data systems, and AV services. The 30 week project was completed in August 2014.

Unit 3 Europa View, Sheffield - Value £29,000
AMS were awarded the electrical services to the internal refurbishment to suit client requirements. The D&B fast track project was completed in 6 weeks.

Health & Safety Laboratory, Buxton - Value £200,000
AMS were appointed to carry out the installation of new fire alarm and emergency lighting systems to retained buildings across the 500 acre HSE site. Following successful completion of the first phase of works AMS were awarded a further three phases of the scheme, which were completed in March 2014. The overall scheme encompassed seventeen buildings.


University of Sheffield, Oakholme Road Refurbishment - Value £70,000         
AMS were appointed to carry out the design and electrical installation works to two of the universities accommodation buildings. The 13 week project was completed in Oct 2013.


University of Sheffield, Teaching Spaces Package 2 - Value £52,000
AMS were appointed to carry out the electrical installation works to the refurbishment of various teaching spaces across two buildings. The works comprise the installation of new lighting, power, and AV services. The 8 week project was completed in Aug 2013.

REED, Glasgow - Value £20,000
AMS were awarded the electrical services to the internal refurbishment following REED's purchase of the building. The works were completed in 3 weeks.

University of Sheffield, Psychology Entrance Refurbishment - Value £44,000
AMS were appointed to design and install the electrical installation works to the refurbishment of the entrance areas, lecture theatre, and seminar rooms. The lighting scheme incorporated ultra efficient LED lighting, and controls. The 6 week project was completed in Aug 2013.

University of Sheffield, Human Communication Sciences - Value £236,000
AMS were appointed to carry out the electrical installation works to the refurbishment of the former IWP building. The D&B project features some of the most efficient LED lighting, and automated controls. The 16 week project was completed a week earlier than its planned 16 weeks in Aug 2013.

University of Sheffield, Geography B Floor Refurbishment - Value £54,000
AMS were appointed to carry out the electrical installation works to the refurbishment of teaching laboratories. The works comprised the installation of new general lighting, power, data, fire alarm, and AV services. The 9 week project was completed in Aug 2013.

Bests Solicitors, Sheffield - Value £15,000
AMS were awarded the electrical services to the internal refurbishment to suit client requirements. The D&B fast track project was completed in just 4 weeks.

University of Sheffield, New Spring House - Value £38,000
AMS were appointed to carry out the general lighting and power modifications to suit revised staffing layouts. The 8 week programme was completed in June 2013.

Laser Cladding Technology
AMS carried out this D&B mains distribution and lighting upgrade to a 10,000sq foot manufacturing unit with minimal disruption to its 24 hour operation. The works were completed in March 2013.

University of Sheffield, Mappin Asbestos Abatement Enabling Works - Value £48,000
AMS were appointed to carry out the enabling works to this asbestos abatement programme. The works comprised the removal of general lighting and power, and containment systems during the asbestos removal phase, and subsequent re-installation upon completion. The works were completed in March 2013.

Ridgeway Medical Centre, Rotherham - Value £50,000
AMS were appointed to carry out the electrical services to the refurbishment and extension of the existing medical centre. The project comprised the installation of LV distribution, general lighting and power, data, and security systems. The 20 week project was completed on time and on budget in February 2013.

University of Sheffield, Bradfield Field Station - Value £68,000
AMS were appointed to carry out the electrical services to the conversion of a former field station into laboratories. The 12 week programme was completed in January 2013.

Wickersley Health Centre, Rotherham - Value £15,000
AMS were appointed to carry out the electrical services to additional consulting rooms. The project comprised the installation of general lighting and power, data, and security systems and was completed in January 2013.

University of Sheffield, Mappin C144/145 - Value £134,000
AMS were appointed to carry out the electrical services to the refurbishment of test laboratories. The fit out included the installation of an 88kVA generator, loadbank, and experimental LV panel, general lighting and power, and a new CiCS IT room. The 8 week programme was completed in October 2012.

University of Sheffield, Portobelle Flexible Teaching - Value £44,000 
AMS were appointed to carry out the electrical services to the refurbishment of flexible teaching spaces. The 8 week programme was completed September 2012.

Lyceum Theatre, Sheffield - Value £26,000
AMS were appointed to install and commission a new emergency lighting central battery unit. The project involved detailed planning to keep 'downtime' to a minimum, and was completed in just 5 days, including the controlled removal of over 4 tonne of sealed lead acid batteries.

Padley & Venables, Dronfield - Value £34,000
AMS were awarded the electrical services to the refurbishment of a two storey office development. The D&B scheme was a  fast track project and was completed in just 4 weeks.

IFS 360, Nottingham - Value £16,000
AMS were awarded the electrical services as part of the client fit out works. The works, comprising remodeling of the existing lighting, power and security systems were completed over a 4 week period.

Lyceum Theatre, Sheffield - Value £26,000
An AMS designed scheme to reduce energy usage. The scheme involved the installation of automated and additional lighting controls, and the replacement of Tungsten Halogen fittings with LED replacements. Energy reduction of 15Kw was achieved and further initiatives are planned for 2013.

The Pod, Hull - Value £22,000
Provision of electrical services to refurbished mall entrances, signage supplies, and new fire alarm panel. The 6 week programme was undertaken out of normal working hours and was completed in September 2012.

North Hertfordshire College, Centre for Arts & Technology - Value £33,000 
AMS were appointed to carry out the electrical services to the refurbishment of the flexible teaching zone. The 4 week fast track programme saw AMS design a lighting scheme to complement the existing bespoke ceiling structure, as well as installation of new power and IT services, and was completed in August 2012. 

George Spencer Academy, Nottingham - Value £155,000
AMS were appointed to carry out the electrical services installation to the new sports hall and inclusion block. The D&B scheme was secured in partnership with MITIE and main contractor Kier Marriott, and achieved a BREEAM 'very good' rating. The scheme was completed on budget, and on programme in June 2012.

Chesterfield Cylinders - Lighting and power install to refurbished canteen.
Coit School - Replacement external lighting scheme.
Crucible Enterprises -  Replacement lighting, and water heaters to Crucible Corner bar.
University of Sheffield -  Power and AV installations to Regents Court.
LAR -  Site temporary supplies and hire of 10kVA transformers.
RAF Waddington -  Power and data modifications to IT offices. 
UK Platforms - Power and data modifications to Barnsley office depot.
Mott MacDonald - Periodic inspection of three storey office block. 
5M Publishing - Lighting and power install to formation of four internal offices
University of Sheffield - Reinstate electrical services to archeology stores following asbestos removal.
Sheffield Girls High School - Lighting and ventilation controls to new kitchen servery.
University of Sheffield - Reception refurbishment to Regents Court and Management School.
University of Sheffield - Refurbishment of Hadfield F59.
Yorkshire Furniture - Periodic inspoection and completion of remedial works.
Wiseability - Installation of additional power and data to training workshop. 
BAE RAF Waddington - Installation of floor boxes and associated data cabling.
Sheffield Theatres - Various planned and reactive maintenance.
University of Sheffield - Back Lane gates electrical and access installation.
MAG Shoes - Mains distribution upgrade.
GEA Denco - Mechanical controls wiring to adiabatic chiller at Syngenta UK.
