We store content in unallocated storage on endpoint devices throughout the network. The Adaptiva Client intelligently and automatically manages how many copies should be stored based on the level of demand in the network, and creates or removes redundant copies as needed. The end-user never knows that content is stored on their device, and if they start to need more of their local storage back, that content is immediately removed, and the Adaptiva Client identifies another endpoint in the network with surplus space and bandwidth to store that content and ensure its availability.
No – not the way we have architected it. Adaptiva’s implementation of peer-to-peer is different than what may first come to mind. If you are most familiar with peer-to-peer from its usage in media sharing you may be thinking of a “one-to-many" implementation where an endpoint with the content on it is completely bogged down while trying to send it out to everyone else. Adaptiva uses peer-to-peer in a one-to-one fashion, creating a fire-brigade style of sharing where each endpoint is only responsible for a little bit at a time, but overall, the system is incredibly efficient. It also means that there is an extreme amount of redundancy and resilience in the system – if one endpoint experiences a failure, many others are available to step in and take its place until it comes back online.
Almost! You still need one, but ONLY one, regardless of the size of your network. If you’re working with Microsoft Endpoint Manager (SCCM, ConfigMgr, etc), then you will always need one server because ConfigMgr needs to discover content locally from that server. However, beyond that, no more servers regardless of the size of your organization. Everything else can be done within a single boundary group where all distribution is handled peer-to-peer without any need for distribution or cache points, or any kind of server infrastructure.
Rapidly remediate vulnerabilities for any number of endpoints— no matter their location or network connection—all without impacting the network bandwidth. Using innovative P2P technology, OneSite reduces endpoint management complexity at speed and scale by eliminating infrastructure.
