Annual gynecological examinations are essential to women's reproductive and general health. Our offices offer timely, reasonably-priced gynecological exams including birth control consultations and prescriptions, and emergency appointments. Emergency contraception (the morning-after pill) is available in all of our offices, usually within 48 hours. Our offices are all equipped with ultrasound to facilitate diagnosis of reproductive system problems. We offer and educate you about a wide range of contraceptive options to suit your life, so that you can choose which is best for you.
Annual Exam - Yearly exam consisting of a breast exam, internal and external exam of the vagina, and an examination of the other reproductive organs. This is normally given in conjunction with a pap smear. A birth control consultation and prescription can also be included.
Pelvic Exam - An examination of your internal organs: uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries. The doctor or nurse practitioner will check for any abnormalities by inserting two fingers into your vagina while applying pressure to your abdomen to physically examine these reproductive organs.
Breast Exam - An examination of the breast tissue to check for any abnormalities. The doctor or nurse practitioner will physically examine your breast tissue by applying pressure in a circular pattern over each breast and into the armpit areas to feel for any lumps or other irregularities in the breast tissue. You will also be given the opportunity to learn how to perform a breast self-exam.
Pap Smear - Safe, simple, quick procedure consists of collecting a sample of cells from the cervix and examining for any abnormalities. The doctor or nurse practitioner will gather the sample by opening the walls of the vagina with a speculum and, using a small brush/spatula, brushing cells from the surface of the cervix. You should have a Pap smear at least once a year as early-detection screening for cervical cancer.

Condoms- Condoms are available free to all patients.
Emergency Contraception (The Morning-After Pill) - This consists of medication taken up to 5 days after unprotected intercourse (preferably within 72 hours). This has been proven to reduce the risk of pregnancy up to 89% of the time.
Oral Contraception - We offer a wide variety of birth control pills. We will discuss with you which of the many pills on the market might be right for you.
Ortho-Evra® Contraceptive Patch - The birth control patch is a hormonal contraceptive that is changed once a week.
NuvaRing® - A flexible vaginal ring that releases hormones over three weeks to prevent pregnancy.
Depo-Provera® - Contraceptive injection given once every three months to prevent pregnancy. This injection can be administered in our office.
Diaphragm - A diaphragm is a latex barrier that is a soft, shallow dome that covers the cervix. It is used in conjunction with spermicidal jelly, foam, or cream. A physician or nurse practitioner will fit you for the right sized diaphragm.
Mirena® Intrauterine System (IUS)- The IUS is a long-term form of contraception consisting of a small device that is inserted in the uterus. It releases hormones directly onto the endometrium to prevent pregnancy and reduce menstrual bleeding for up to five years.
Paraguard® Intrauterine Device (IUD) - The IUD is a long-term form of contraception consisting of a small copper device that is inserted in the uterus. It contains no hormones and it can be left in place for more than ten years.
Essure® Tubal Occlusion - Essure causes permanent infertility by closing off the fallopian tubes. Essure placed hysteroscopically in our office and requires no incisions or general anesthesia.
