A Brazilian Superstition

Today during church, Yaks and I were in the foyer. We spend a lot of time there, especially during the third hour. It's like our little hang-out. Only COOL people kick it in the foyer! Yaks was standing on his head, illustrated in the picture to the left. I was happy to have him entertain himself so I could take a rest from chasing him down the halls. This cute, Brazilian sister in my ward came over, gave me a hug, and whispered in my ear:

Sister: "Do you know what your son is doing?"
Amy: (brightly but confused) "Well, he's standing on his head!"
Sister: "In Brazil, they have a superstition that when babies stand on their heads, they are calling for another sibling to join in the family."
Amy: (flushing) "Oh really? Not right away, I hope."
Sister: "Well, my first daughter started standing on her head like that and I was pregnant with my second two months later. I just thought I would let you know."
Amy: "Oh....well...thanks!" (quickly removing Yaks from his headstand)

That was my feeling exactly! I didn't ask her if there was anything we could do to cancel out their wish. Dang. I'm not ready for another one yet, that's for sure!
