  1. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Please thank William for me: this chapter of his book is like a really great massage followed by a hot cup of peppermint tea–for the heart. And I’ll be humming Allison’s and Robin’s songs around the house, especially Robin’s. What good music choices you made. This podcast is a very nice show, short and really sweet and encouraging. William’s explanations are not just perfect for “newbies” to Nichiren’s Buddhism but refreshing for “oldbies.” Thank you, Karen and Jason for carving out the time from your busy lives to bring listeners another good show, and thank you William for making the time to get back into the podcast kitchen.

  3. I just wanted to say that this podcast was and is very instrumental in convincing me to get re-started in this Buddhism and encourages me all the time, and I have become very active in my local district.

  4. I just saw your website and I have to say that I am very impressed with what you do. Your definition of buddhism is certainly very wise and extremly easy to understand. If followed, it would lead to compassion in people and that’s a good thing.
    See you soon.

  5. Hi Jason and Karen,

You guys do a great job of educating us 😉 with the Nichiren’s Buddhism concepts !! Keep up the great work.

Quick question: I’m trying to find Experiences link and for some reason I couldn’t – could you please guide me?

Also, I tried a lot of times to view your website, but http://www.thejarretts.com always says Forbidden. Can you please reply with the right website address?

    Thanks a lot

  6. Your podcast is brilliant!
Thought you might be interested in my site. The book, Romancing the Buddha, was published by Middleway Press. I also did a one-man show two years ago based on the book. Two of the performances were sponsored by the SGI in Santa Monica and LA. Four segments are on youtube (see beabuddha or google romancing the buddha).
I’ve also done many book readings.
Thanks again for all you are doing!
    Cheers!

  7. HI Shilpa,
Thank you for your kind words. I am trying to write the next one in between a mad schedule at the moment. Such a strong urge to write! for the Experiences button try going to the back up site at http//www.abuddhistpodcast.posterous.com . Thejarretts.com, I’m sorry, I need to redirect the dns tags but haven’t done so yet. I also want to update that. I guess there are only so many hours in the day. I will ask my good friend Phil if he can help. Take great care, I hope you are finding your determination, this week is a great opportunity to make a fresh start towards the 100 anniversary of the SGI’s founding. What will you do for the next 20 years on this planet, don’t waste a moment, the world needs you to be at your best.
    Kindest regards
    Jason

  9. Hi Guys,

I appreciate how busy you are… I also use Gowalla, but nothing like Jason :-). This latest podcast is brilliant – Chapter 15 was very inspirational. The icing on the cake was Robin’s song… any chance of getting the lyrics? I’m thinking of using the song for an assembly – I now teach (maths) at an EBD school, near Nuneaton and the ideas in the song are just fab!

  11. Great work as usual! Instead of tshirts or a coffee mug what about mala beads with the tassel including A Buddhist Podcast logo or url. Granted, I don’t know if that’s appropriate or could be produced cost effectively. It certainly would be useful and helpful.

I use a small 18 bead mala. I think you could do this with 18 beads or 108.

    Stay well!

  12. Hi Jason and Karen,

Not sure if I have missed something – but what happened to the “donate – to help support this podcast” button?
I happily donate as I am sure others do, to help support you both (and the behind the scenes folks) in making this wonderful resource available, but the button has vanished from a few shows ago and not reappeared?
If some confused individual is suggesting that you are seeking to make a profit, not only are they wrong, they are blocking the flow for others.
If this is the case then maybe anything that was left over after the costs from the show have been deducted could be donated to SGI-UK ( I am sure no one would object to this?.

  15. Thank you for doing the podcasts. I am aware that there are many people with reading disabilities who would like to study more. Also all us busy Buddhists can listen in the car or while doing housework. For myself I have been struggling with the demon of chronic pain. This morning I woke up at 3 am. I couldnot sleep so I listened and your words encouraged me. What I am starting to get, finally after chanting for 25 years is that my mission is to transform my suffering into happiness. Not to be satisfied with just temporary relief, although I greatly appreciate even minor relief from pain, but to really really tranform myself is my determination for 2011. Thank you and I intend to keep listening and to share your words with my members in Capital Hill District, Denver Colorado.
