OK.... only recently i have noticed that my mugen has no bgm.... well, the sound folder had only the ones that came with the mugen.

BUT, i added some Hi-res stages that had BGM with them.

eg.
[Info]
name = "pyron_stage"; DARKSTALKERS
author= "Master Yoda"
;DATE = 06/05/09

[BGdef]
spr = pyron_stage.sff
debugbg = 1
;--------------------------------------------------------
[Music]
bgmusic = sound/pyron_stage.mp3
bgvolume = 225

Taken from the DEF file form the stage.

now, i have absolutly no music, i copied, and pasted music form another mugen's Sound folder, to my own, i still have no BGM what so ever...

untill now i only heard music in two ocasions.... while playing with Rare Akuma and Neo-Reaper Isabeau SSJ9.

i also have this setting on a character on my "select" file to see if any thing would work: kfm, stages/AH_Blue-Diamond.def, music=sound/Trhilling Time.mp3
i changed the music name, i changed any mispelled name in the stage.def file related to the BGM.... hell... i think i did everything possible.

i will post any Char/Stage info you need to help me out, it is jus that mugen without music feels WAY empty, also on the options my Midi volume is at 55 just like Wav, and i have also set it to max.

EDIT: I am currently using the Screenpack provided by Striderhien, may that hvae something to do with it???

the mp3 files must not have spaces in them, for exemple

Trhilling Time.mp3

must be in both the folder and def file called TrhillingTime.mp3

well, that was after i changed the name, before it was "10_trhiling_time"

and the Stages BGM have no spaces.

i have , for example, a DMC4-FortunaCity.def, then the DMC4-FortunaCity BGM file and the DMC4-FortunaCity.sff file.

in that order in the "stage" folder, because i downloaded it like that, should i have the BGM for the stage in the "sound" folder?

eg.
having the DMC-FortunaCity BGM file in the Sound folder, instead of having it on the "stage" folder?

but still, even if that was wrong, when i added the "10_trhilling_time.mp3" to the "select" file it should work.
i did it with no smicolon, i did it wiht a semicolon, i will try it now (again) without the spaces and withotut the smicolon, to see if i did something wrong.

i just don't understand what can be so wrong, that not even one sound works, i mean, if i have musics in the "Sound" folder, were they not suposed to play even if i did not assing them a character or stage??

i know how to resolve your problem squirrelking
use .ogg files instead of .mp3 files
with the correct plug in, the musics on select char screen and menu will always work
just get an mp3-ogg converter

The best converter I know is Total Video Converter. It can convert anything to anything (even vids to gifs LOL)
