Jilli Blackwood is an internationally renowned textile artist and designer. She is frequently invited to lecture on her work and has been an Artist-in-Residence at the National Museums Scotland in Edinburgh.

An award-winning graduate of The Glasgow School of Art, where she gained a First Class Honours Degree, Jilli’s unique embroidery style has garnered international recognition with her wall hangings and “Art to Wear” works held in private, corporate and prestigious museum collections around the world.

The creation of each commission is an intensely personal journey which always begins with the hand-dying of fabrics, principally silks, but also wool, cotton and leather. With the use of modern-day reproduction technologies and the versatility of fibre as an art medium, the application of Jilli’s work is boundless, resulting in her involvement in a diverse number of design projects that have showcased her work on the world stage.

Jilli is continually experimenting with the interrelationships of the traditional textile processes of weaving, dying, and embroidery and has created a vast collection of designs, a number of which have been developed into bespoke ranges of interior furnishings.
