Next Market This Saturday 13th April!
Stirling’s award-winning Farmers’ Market will be back on Port Street this Saturday from 10am till 4pm with 20 stalls all laden down with fantastic food and delicious drinks so you’re sure to find something to tempt even the most discerning of palates. Now that we’re springing forward into April many of you will no doubt be dusting off your barbeque tongs in anticipation of some half decent weather and what better place to stock up on your al-fresco foodstuffs than the farmers’ market? With a wide range of chops, steaks, ribs, sausages and burgers to choose from you’re sure to be able to rustle up the perfect flame grilled feast. You’ll also find a choice of sauces and relishes for spicing things up, delicious cheeses for burger-topping and even fresh baked bread rolls to serve everything on! Of course there is always a chance the spring sunshine doesn’t come to much in which case you could imagine yourself enjoying some continental weather whilst tucking into some authentic pasta from Stirling’s newest stallholder – The Pasta Tree. Founder Ivano Campagnoli originally hails from Veneto in North East Italy and spent his career in catering before relocating to North East Scotland and promptly being disappointed in the supermarket pasta offerings. We were determined to recreate that cherished taste of home so we embarked on a pasta-making adventure like no other,” says Ivano. “While industrial factories rush through the process in a matter of hours, we take our time - letting our pasta dry naturally for 2 to 7 days depending on the type of pasta. This careful approach preserves the goodness and leaves you feeling invigorated, not groggy, after indulging in our pasta.” Alongside his pasta, Ivano will also be showcasing his range of sauces and olive oils to accompany them. Regular stallholders will also feature Lebanese dishes & deli items; French pastries; Scottish cheeses & oatcakes; beef & pork; free range hens’ & ducks’ eggs; award-winning fudge & tablet; wild venison & game; Ayrshire vegetables; pies & sausage rolls; fresh fish & shellfish; locally blended teas; artisan breads; chilli jellies & sauces; cakes & brownies; jams & chutneys; craft beers & honey meads; and a selection of crafts & gift ideas.
