Main Job Purpose:

The IT Business Analyst - Corporate Reporting (BA) is responsible for working with the business to identify requirements, and translate them to Functional Specifications to be shared with developed. The BA is then responsible for managing the change through the development life cycle to affect the smooth hand-over of new and transitioned servers to live service. The BA ensures the transfer of knowledge regarding systems software installations and upgrades within the team and with other relevant teams using the IT change management process and documentation

Key Accountabilities:

-Internal consultant and liaison between business & IT: An internal consultancy role that has the responsibility for investigating business systems, identifying options for improving business systems and bridging the needs of the business with the use of IT. Performs a liaison function between the business and the providers of IT services.

-Manages this structured and operational relationship: Plans, arranges and controls meetings, workshops and relations with internal customer/user staff during system investigations and throughout subsequent development work. Takes responsibility at a high level for the proper conduct of such relations.

-Transfers business requirements into application functionality: Partnering with business to gather all business requirements to formulate business specifications and translating those into application functionality. Delivering consistently high standard functional specifications [at pseudo code level]. Maintains a technical awareness at the necessary level to decide when to advocate and when to compromise to arrive at a mutually acceptable solution. Considers the constraints of costs, resources and time.

-Manages user acceptance of the solution: Will refine user acceptance test scripts/scenarios and provide support for user acceptance testing and required training activities. Takes responsibility for their proper execution.

Skills/ Experience/ Qualifications:

-Business analysis & Project management skills: Should be a highly creative, goal oriented professional with solid business, analytical, and project management skills and experience.

-Requirements Analysis and business process design

-Should be familiar with SAP BW

-Financial and/ or Management accounting experience: Non-IT Functional work experience in a corporate centre/ global capacity.

-Familiar with ITIL, SOX Procedures

-Familiarity with technology trends in SAP & Business Consolidation Software.

-Ability to write detailed functional specifications that enable the developers to develop new or modify existing business systems. Helps developers to choose between available technical options based on Business analysis of the problem
