Horse racing is called the sport of kings for good reason. There's nothing quite like having a wager on a horse whose form you've been following closely, only to see it romp home in first place. Of course on the flip side we always remember 'the one that got away'. That big odds horse we failed to bet on or that just fell short. Racing festivals and events too hold such appeal to lovers of the sport, from The Grand National and Cheltenham Festival in the UK, to races like the Kentucky Derby, Belmont Stakes and Breeder's Cup in the United States.

Horse Racing interest of course extends well beyond the US and UK though, look no further than the Dubai World Cup (with an incredible $10 milion prize money - second only to the US Pegagus World Cup), the Nakayama Grand Jump in Japan, and the 'Royal Ascot of German horse racing' the Baden Baden in Germany.

For every winner of these prestiguous races there's a story, a race track with ever expanding history, and a horse whose career racing fans will be eagerly watching. At horsesandcourses.net we aim to explore race courses from around the world and horses whose achievements have either seen them carve out a place for themselves in the world of racing, or are in the process of doing so currently.

Who can forget some of the classic performances of old, by racing legends the likes of iconic champion steeplechaser Red Rum and the undefeated Frankel from the UK, and more recent performances to remember such as Winx with a fourth Cox Plate win in 2018, and the triple crown wins of American Pharaoh and Justify. All of these and more are essentially horse racing 'hall of famers' and more than deserve the praise that is rightfully heaped upon them.

By following the links on the left you can begin to dip into some of our current highlighted race horses and tracks, to both inform and enthral. The ALL option leads to all current horse and race track updates, and the categories links on the right of the page allow for easy access to this info in update order.

If you have any suggestions for horse or track inclusions, or wish to contribute to our archives, feel free to get in touch via the contact page. We're more than happy to hear from you.
