Pastor's Message
Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord
As we enter this time of Holy Week, we celebrate the most important mysteries of our Faith: the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ. We have prepared during Lent to become more open to uniting ourselves with the suffering and Death of Jesus so that we share in his Resurrection.
In order to enter spiritually into these saving events, I invite you to come to the Masses and Services of the Paschal Triduum: Holy Thursday’s Mass of the Lord’s Supper in which we commemorate the institution of the Holy Eucharist and the priesthood and the commandment of service in Christ’s washing of the feet; Good Friday, the Passion (suffering) and death of Jesus in the Commemoration of the Lord’s Passion; the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday when the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and First Holy Eucharist) are celebrated; and Easter Sunday, the Resurrection of the Lord.
Let us pray that as a community of faith, we may allow these Sacred Mysteries to work their effect in us.
In Christ,
Father Lee Roos, Pastor
Holy Week at All Saints
Our Lenten journey is coming to an end. We now turn in a special way to the ancient liturgies of Holy Week. We invite you to join us during this sacred time as we gather to experience Christ’s redeeming love.
Bishop’s Lenten Appeal
Once a year we are asked to make a pledge to support the work of our diocesan programs and ministries which provide services that no parish could provide on its own We are asking every family to participate to help our parish make our goal. By participating in the BLA, we renew our commitment to the Lord with a response to his call to serve our brothers and sisters. You may go online to make a donation at https://www.arlingtondiocese.org/.
Fast & Abstinence on Good Friday
Good Friday is a day of penance to be observed as an obligation in the whole Church, and indeed, through abstinence (no meat; age 14 and older) and fasting.
Welcome to All Saints Catholic Church
Become a part of our vibrant, faith-filled community.
All Saints Catholic Church is an ever-changing and evolving community, steeped in a rich history and diverse culture. We are dedicated, hard-working families and individuals from virtually every walk of life.
We are disciples of the Lord Jesus. By virtue of our baptism, we live our Catholic faith and are God’s voice calling out to others. We celebrate the Eucharist and Sacraments, live out the scriptures in service to our neighbors, and are faithful to Church teachings.
We are called to keep our faith vibrant and to pass on the faith for all generations to come, that we may bring others closer to Christ and continue building the kingdom of God.
“Every baptized person has received the vocation to proclaim — to proclaim something to proclaim Jesus — the vocation and mission to evangelize: to proclaim Jesus.” — Pope Francis
