As the longest-established training programme for Bowen in the UK and Europe, Bowen Training UK offers a unique opportunity to learn from the original pioneers of the Bowen Technique (Bowtech).
Under the auspices of the Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia, since 1993 we have trained more practitioners in the original Bowen Technique than any other college. We are proud that Bowtech is now seen as a benchmark for similar programmes.
Our Bowtech therapists form part of an international network of Academy-registered practitioners influencing health care in over 30 countries around the world. Only Bowtech gives access to the full range of procedures documented directly from founder Tom Bowen (1916 – 1982), who developed this unique therapy in his clinic in Victoria, Australia.
Since then, his work has been continued by Ossie and Elaine Rentsch (pictured left) ensuring more and more people can benefit from this gentle yet dynamic therapy which has been shown to have a profound effect on the body.
Bowen Training UK is the only college to have extensive support throughout the world with over 120 accredited teachers. Only Bowtech gives access to the full range of procedures documented by Oswald Rentsch directly from Tom Bowen himself.
No previous experience is needed to start learning the Bowen Technique which comprises seven basic modules. Our team of instructors, who have completed their own accredited intensive training programme, provides advice and support throughout.

CPD Bowen Body Decoding Workshop July 2024
Georgi ilchev returns to the UK after a well-attended and successful Part 1 workshop in 2023, to present Bowen Body Decoding Part 2 for those who attended last year. In addition, due to demand, he is offering Part 1 and Part 2 together on July 24th -25th, and July 26th -27th. The venue for all dates is Horley, Surrey. Born from a desire for simplicity, how to assess each client for a successful Bowen Therapy outcome, Georgi’s focus is upon a thorough consultation with physiotherapy assessments.
He tailors the assessment for each individual client in a precise and ordered way by using observation, palpation, checking and re-checking any imbalance and performance of muscles, and postural alignments.
Georgi presents his innovative course with theory, explanations, demonstrations and lots of hands-on practical. His presentation is like a revision of Module 8, with more detail and examples.
In the workshop, therapists work together in practice led by Georgi, learning both what it is like to be a therapist carrying out assessments and a client being observed and performing tests. There is plenty of practical, with a manual available for your laptop or tablet to follow along in the workshop, as well as on a large screen.
Georgi runs his own school and private practice and is president of the Bowen Association of Bulgaria. He is author of seven books to do with physiotherapy, muscle testing, kinesiology and Bowen Technique.
This CPD course offers 16 hours for each part (8 hours each day).

The Mind Body connection and Bowen Technique is a powerful combination when listening to the body. Allows the client to be in a safe comfortable space using Mind Body Bowen (MBB) techniques to respond and release stress areas, bringing about relaxation and calmness to often long-term conditions.
Bowen moves are carried out carefully and with precise timing to help unlock tension areas built up in the body. These may arise from memories or the subconscious and may have been deeply buried or masked over the years. Specialised session/s such as MBB are helpful when a client is not getting better or needs to ‘tune in’ to the sensations felt in the body which are clues to where restriction or blockages are residing. The Bowen practitioner will be guided throughout the training in this 2-day workshop, that, by using mindfulness aspects and the ‘felt’ or interoceptive sense, Bowen can have a role in the release of post trauma stress including the enduring effects of Birth, prenatal and post birth issues. “Every body is better with Bowen” - whether for physical, emotional or mental presentations. As we clear residual tensions the person can become more embodied and present, connected to their ‘authentic self’ - all confirmation of the truly wholistic nature of this amazing modality.
Traditional medicine and energy concepts such as the Chinese meridians, chakras and the energy field surrounding the body will be observed and their links to muscles groups and Bowen Therapy procedures will be explored.
Travelling over from Australia two very experienced Bowen Therapists and Teachers Margaret Spicer and Vianne MacBeth will present the course. Margaret Spicer last visited the UK in 2013 and this course was well received. Many members will remember the profound experience of learning the tools for MBB and may wish to return. Newer members open to the knowledge that health exists on various levels of mental, emotional, spiritual, physical, and more will be curious to learn how to help their clients. This workshop material is suitable for all Bowen practitioners, indeed many wish they had done this type of workshop early in their practice as it can give great insight into what is happening for their clients.
