The Ferns Bed and Breakfast
Betws-y-Coed

Sarah and Mark offer a warm welcome to the Ferns, our friendly and comfortable B&B, here in beautiful Betws-y-Coed, “Gateway” to Snowdonia National Park (Eryri in Welsh). We are ideally located for exploring Snowdonia’s attractions and adventures.

Where are we?

Our B&B is situated on the main street of Betws-y-Coed, just 5 minutes walking distance from all of the village’s restaurants, cafes, bars and shops.

Our Rooms

All of our bedrooms are freshly decorated with comfortable beds, en-suite shower rooms and views of the majestic Gwydyr Forest which surrounds Betws y Coed. We can accommodate individual travellers, couples, families and small groups.

Facilities at The Ferns

  • All our bedrooms have flat-screen TVs, generous tea & coffee trays, toiletries, towels and hairdryers.
  • Free and fast WiFi throughout the house.
  • Comfortable lounge where you can meet and relax at the end of the day or before venturing out.

Is breakfast included?

You will find our rooms priced both as “room-only” and “including breakfast” on our website. So you can choose what suits you when booking with us. Visit our Guest Information page for more details.

Are we near Snowdon?

Our B&B is only a 20 minute drive to two of the main footpaths on Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa in Welsh), the PYG Track and Miners Path, and about 35 minutes to the village of Llanberis for the Llanberis Path and Snowdon Mountain Railway. Why not save time and hassle parking by taking the Sherpa Bus to Snowdon (only 5 mins walk from The Ferns)?

What about parking?

We do have some private parking available on our drive (for up to 5 cars) and there is further free parking on the street in front of the house and nearby.

Can you get to Betws-y-Coed by train?

Yes! Our mainline railway station is only 5 minutes’ walk away from us. (London Euston to Betws-y-Coed in under 4 hours is possible!)

Walking from our B&B in Betws-y-Coed

As well as the many low-level and mountain walks in Snowdonia/Eryri, we have lovely walks for every ability, straight from the guesthouse. As keen walkers ourselves we can offer you tips and suggestions to make best use of your time with us.

Croeso i Gymru

When you visit Snowdonia/Eryri and The Ferns, you may well hear Cymraeg (Welsh) being spoken. It is the first language for many local people and is, along with English, one of our official languages here in bilingual Wales....so Croeso i Gymru (Welcome to Wales) and why not have a go at some Cymraeg?

What else is there to do in Snowdonia and North Wales?

Lots! Please take a look at our See & Do page for some more ideas, and give us a call if you need more information.

So, whether you’re a keen walker, climber, cyclist, photographer, wild-swimmer, kayaker, steam-train enthusiast, history-buff, zip-liner, surfer or you just want to “escape to the country”, come and stay with us at The Ferns Guesthouse where you will receive a warm welcome in one of UK’s best kept secrets... Snowdonia, North Wales!
