Kirby Muxloe is a friendly and welcoming village that is situated on the outskirts of Leicester with open views to the countryside. We have a fascinating history that boasts ruins of a 14th century castle built by William Hastingsand encompassed by a moat. We have a 14th century church where you can be called for service by the the enchanting bells being rung, and the swiss style school of 1810 continues to be an architectural vision of the village.
The local council is smaller than some but works more closely and personally with the community than some of the larger ones, it is friendly, approachable and works hard to achieve targets that help the environment. The parish council holds regular meetings for the public in the village hall promoting the interests of the village and residents in conjuction with the council. We have an approachable village constable and community support officer policing our village whilst liasing with the residents to ensure a safe and secure environment for all.
The local primary school has a high reputation and is often the hub of the village social scene holding a number of events that include fetes, craft fares and firework displays amongst many, if you want to find out whats going on check up and coming events or plan ahead.
