This delightful retreat is situated on the front line of the Porto Letizia resort in the beautiful lakeside village, Porlezza. The property has a large garden which leads to a communal lawn which opens to the vast Lake and gorgeous sandy beach. We know of no other beach like this in Como. There are water sports, sun beds, childrens play areas, swimming, hiking, biking, waterfalls, a wonderful array of lakeside restaurants and bars and a colourful weekly market. You can bus, ferry or drive to the elegant resort of Lugano (Switzerland) or Menaggio (Lake Como) within 20 minutes. The location is perfect year round for hikers, climbers, couples and families alike.

*On site pool is currently closed but there is a great pool at the campsite next door!
Lakeside Sandy Beach
Panama beach is probably the best beach in the entire Como province. Soft sand, sun beds and gazebos, safe clean swimming water and SUP hire. But shhhhh.... don't tell anybody!

Bikes, Hikes and Watersports
Free bikes are available from reception (subject to availability) . Reception can also arrange private motor boat hire or suggest great local hikes. Make sure you say hello to Bibi on the beach. He rents out kayaks & SUPs and can teach you to windsurf like a pro in no time!

Porlezza Town / Saturday Market
(5 minute walk)
Walk along the lakeside path for 5 minutes into the old town of Porlezza. Visit cafes, the market, hire a speed boat and wander the streets of the old town including it's beautiful church.
Cascata de Begna
1 hour Waterfall Walk
Take a walk or 5 minute drive to the beautiful woodland and hike to the waterfalls. Absolute heaven! Lovely trattoria en route. Walk to or park by the church and follow signs to right of the church: Take your swimming costume! Directions
Visit Lugano town, Switzerland
(20 minute drive)
Visit this elegant town by ferry or car. A short, pretty drive, Lugano is stunning and has plenty to keep you busy. Promenade the lake, shopping and visit the art centre. Families will LOVE the amazing miniature village complete with ride-on miniature railway. And don't miss the magnificent views on the fernacular at the top of San Salvadore - leaves every 30 minutes from here directions
Kayak and Speed Boat Hire
Kayaks and waterboards available to hire from the beach at the end of your garden. Ask for Bibi who will show you how to windsurf like a pro! Speed boats available to hire by the hour from Porlezza town.
Grotte di Rescia Caves
(5 minute drive / short walk)
The caves of Rescia represent a natural jewel of Lake Ceresio and are a lovely break from the hot summer sun
Hikes
So many peaks to hike to, many from your doorstep. Visit the tourist office open mornings Tuesday to Saturday until midday for maps. Here is a link to a glorious 2 hour hike a short drive away. directions

The Disused Railway Cycle Path
Rated as 'easy' this stunning 13km cycle path takes you past lakes and through woodland, a nature reserves and a 90m tunnel to the gorgeous town of Mennagio. (see more photos)
Mostly gentle but worth considering an electric bike for a really gentle ride.. It takes about an hour in each direction but plenty of beautiful stops on the way. And stunning town of Mennagio for lunch at the end. Perfect for adults and older children.

Visit Menaggio / Belaggio
(15 minute drive / 30 minute cycle)
A very pretty 15 minutes drive will take you to Mennagio where you can find pretty streets to explore, and a ferry across Lake Como to Belaggio for more sight seeing.

Whether you fancy a proper stone baked pizza, or fish fresh from the lake, we can recommend countless fantastic restaurants for all budgets. Lots of lake side al fresco restaurants and bars close by.
Swimming Pools
If you fancy a change from swimmng in the lake. There are two pools within a 5 minute walk. Il Penguino campsite has a family friendly pool with lots of water slides and just a bit further a long is a more adult pool. Location
