WELCOME TO

PFLAG DALLAS

Please join PFLAG Dallas on Thursday, March 14th, at 7:00 p.m., for our in person monthly support meeting!  We are back to having our live, in person monthly meetings held at Northaven Church (11211 Preston Road, Dallas, TX 75230)! We meet upstairs in room 250. The meeting will be devoted to supporting each other and sharing our experiences. We hope to see you at the meeting!

We will be having a virtual support meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 28th. Just click on the registration link on this page. You will receive the link to the meeting the morning of March 28th. Please check back for information as we may have a speaker along with our support meeting!

With heavy hearts, PFLAG Dallas marks the passing of beloved longtime board member and LGBTQ+ ally Jim Howe after a long illness.

Jim was probably the biggest Pride Parade enthusiast you’ll ever meet. One of his greatest joys was taking first time marchers to the front of the line before the parade started to share his delight and wonderment at the enthusiastic waiting crowds. He loved sharing his love with the community.
When uncertain newcomers showed up to our monthly support meetings, Jim was the greeter who gently put them at ease. “Kind” and “welcoming” are words that have come up time and again to describe him.
We’re all grateful Jim felt well enough to join us in last week’s festival and parade. He attended our support meeting this past week as well, lovingly sharing his experience and perspective with newcomers as he always has.
Over the past eleven years since he and his family joined PFLAG, Jim has advocated for LGBTQ+ rights at the state legislature, staffed countless PFLAG tables at corporate and community functions, volunteered at conferences and other events, and most recently served as our chapter treasurer.
Jim is survived by his loving wife and partner of 53 years Sondra Howe; daughter Lisa, daughter-in-law Wendy, granddaughter Hope; daughter Marcy; sister Barbara; sister-in-law Ann; brother-in-law Allen; sister-in-law Mabel; and many friends.
If you would like to honor Jim, in lieu of flowers the family has graciously suggested donations be made in his name to PFLAG Dallas.
His daughter Marcy Howe said of Jim: he loved his family fiercely.
So did he love us all. And we love you, Jim.
