Message from Mayor Fox:
The Village Board and I have been informed by the New York State Department of Public Service Commission that KeySpan Gas East Corporation d/b/a Nation Grid and Brooklyn Union Gas Company d/b/a National Grid NY have filed amendments to their natural gas tariff schedules.  National Grid and National Grid NY are seeking approval from the NYS Department of Public Service Commission to increase their annual natural gas revenues 24% for delivery, effective March 31, 2024.  Under NYS Law, the Commission must consider a utility’s proposal, and must ensure full public participation.  The Commission will hold a series of virtual public statement hearings on August 1 and 2, 2023, to solicit comments from our community regarding the filings.  The Village of East Rockaway has posted the entire letter on our website.  There are several ways to participate; you can visit the Department’s website at www.dps.ny.gov, and click the YouTube icon at the bottom of the homepage.  If you do not have internet access, you can listen to the hearings by phone by calling 1-518-549-0500 and entering the applicable access code.

The Virtual public statement hearings will be held before Administrative Law Judges (AJs) James A. Costello and Maureen F. Leary, as follows:
